Super typhoon Haiyan, locally known as Yolanda, made its first landfall on November 8. The Visayan region was greatly affected, however, other parts of the Philippines felt the strong rain and wind. Thousands of people have died and probably millions of Filipinos have been displaced. Victims are in need of basic necessities such as food, water, medical aid, and much more. Thankfully national and international aid has been given to those who have been affected.

As soon as the lights went out, I was a little upset about the whole situation. I had no power for about 15 hours, and I was very unhappy. As soon as I heard about the extent of the damage brought by the typhoon, I was angry at myself for thinking such things. People in places like Tacloban are extremely devastated with no food, water, shelter, as they lost everything, including family members or friends who have lost their lives.
